Challenge

The project posed several significant challenges and imposed strict technical requirements.

  • Certified stainless-steel grades were required for high-pressure hydrogen service
  • Every joint had to achieve full leak-tightness with no welding repairs allowed
  • Internal cleanliness had to be ensured to prevent contamination-related issues
  • On-site work had to stay on schedule and pass tests on the first attempt

Solution

The project was executed in clearly defined stages, from prefabrication to final acceptance.

  • Prefabrication of piping spools: cutting, bending, fit-up and preparation
  • Secured transport and delivery to site, followed by coordinated installation
  • Welding performed under approved WPS/WPQR procedures and joint-level QC
  • Cleanliness preparation and readiness for pressure/leak tests and verification

Results

The system was delivered on schedule and accepted with no remarks.

  • Complete high-pressure piping system and valve panel installed and commissioned
  • Weld quality met the required acceptance level, with no repairs after inspection
  • Final acceptance completed smoothly, supporting safe startup and operation
  • The client received a reliable installation designed for long-term performance

Project scope

High-pressure stainless-steel piping and valve panel delivery for a hydrogen fuel station

AIC S.A. delivered a complete high-pressure stainless-steel piping system with a dedicated valve panel for an H2 fuel station. The scope covered engineering support, prefabrication of piping spools, logistics and on-site installation, welding executed in line with approved WPS/WPQR procedures, and completion of the required documentation package (inspection and test records).
